Note: Lock must be in unlocked position (key is required) to disassemble. Interior handle must
be in the closed position.
Insert release side pin. Unlock lock assembly until it releases.
Handle should be rotated about 12 degrees from closed position (bottom set screw should align with small pin hole) to assist in releasing the retaining pin with the pin release rod (approximately .032 to .050 rod recommended or alternately, a large paperclip opened out will work—size to access hole) Suggest lightly pushing
in pin and slowly turning handle until you feel pin drop in to release position.
Unlock lock, push in pin, and lift out lock in rotating up and out motion. Some jiggling may be
required.
Loosen set screws on handle by rotating counterclockwise.
Lift off handle by rotating and pulling up and remove/recover the ball in the lock shaft. Caution:
Do not lose the ball— it is small and likes to roll. Recommend using grease such as G322L
whenever handling it to keep from rolling.
Ball shown removed from the shaft, shown setting on the cap. Handle and cap sequence is
shown in insert photo. These both slide over lock shaft as shown.
Lift off the housing cap to expose the housing, remove the three screws holding housing to door
assembly.
Remove housing assembly from the door skin. The screws must be out and the seal between
the housing and skin broken. Lift housing clear of skin until shaft clears the door assembly.
Remove Spring clip retaining lock shaft into housing. Remove the washers (one or two
normally).
Remove the lock shaft from housing. Note: Lock shaft “square hole” of left side is aligned with
the housing circle cutout.
